One of my favorite aphorisms is “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.”
Most everything occurs in cycles.
Consider:
In history, there is the rise and fall of the great empires of history (Byzantine, Roman, etc..).
In business, there is the ascendancy and decline of a company (best described in the book “Barbarians to Bureaucrats”).
In nature, there is the Golden Ratio (aka The Fibonacci Sequence).
There are patterns everywhere. You just need to look for them, then figure out how to exploit the opportunity buried within.
